The Wellness Council of Indiana, in partnership with the Indiana State Department of Health Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Commission, are introducing a tool to help employers through the lifecycle of tobacco-free policy change and to help employees break their addiction to tobacco, and the Tobacco Free Coalition of Delaware County wants to make sure that YOU know about the tool first!
The Quit Now Tool Launch Party is a FREE workshop specifically for employers who are interested in offering tobacco cessation resources and strengthing their tobacco-free policy, giving them the opportunity to find out how the Quit Now Tool works, ask questions about implementing the tool in their wellness efforts, and get valuable information about the Indiana Tobacco Quitline, the state's FREE phone-based tobacco cessation counseling service. The thirteen counties in East Central Indiana that make up the Indiana State Department of Health's District 6 have suffered from cancer rates higher than the state and national average. Help reduce the burden of cancer on East Central Indiana residents and improve their quality of life by joining the District 6 Cancer Coalition. At this month's meeting, we will be voting on our by-laws and member MOUs, nominating officers to the Executive Committee, and brainstorming for our cancer control initiatives for January - June 2013.
